We believe in offering a better choice for women, and welcome you with open arms. When you choose Organic Initiative, you’re choosing to seize the initiative and make a real difference. We thank you for that.
OUR DIFFERENCE
FREE FROM ENDOCRINE DISRUPTING CHEMICALS
A peer-reviewed study, commissioned by Oi and published in the Journal of the Endocrine Society, investigated the presence of Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs) in tampons.
Undertaken by InsituGen and developed at the University of Otago, the research revealed that some tampons showed detectable estrogenic activity. As expected, Oi was proven free from any detectable EDCs, showing zero estrogenic activity across all independent batches tested.
At Oi, we believe our bodies are the foundation of our being, and you deserve to know exactly what is in your period products. These findings suggest that hormone-safe formulations are entirely achievable, and we remain committed to leading the way in menstrual care safety.

ORGANIC CERTIFIED PERIOD TAMPONS, PADS AND LINERS
At Organic Initiative, we take pride in our certified organic disposable period products—tampons, pads, and liners. Our products are certified to GOTS, OCS, and BioGro, which apply to the finished products, not just individual ingredients. As part of our rigorous certification process, raw materials are tested for heavy metals and other contaminants to ensure safety and quality.
We are committed to offering products that are better for both your body and the planet.
In response to the University of California Berkeley study, we conducted additional testing to further reassure our consumers about the quality of our tampons. We tested samples of our non-applicator, cardboard applicator, and plant-based plastic applicator tampons. All tests, conducted by an accredited laboratory in New Zealand, returned with no detectable traces of concerning heavy metals.
