Oi Organic Cotton

We chose the Certified Organic route with GOTS (Global organic textile standard) and BioGro, New Zealand’s most trusted organic certification authority so you know you are using a product with the highest integrity and total transparency.

Our organic certification standards

Certified Organic means that the cotton we use to make our products has been grown according to strict standards as verified by independent certification bodies such as GOTS (Global organic textile standard) BioGro and the FDA.

GOTS is based on the IFOAM family of standards for fibres and as such has environmental, technical quality/human toxicity and social criteria which covers issues such as child and indentured labour, safe working conditions, hours of work/rest, discrimination/equal rights and a living wage convention.

These certifications include rigorous farm, field and processing facilities, detailed record keeping and periodic testing of soil and water to ensure that growers and handlers are meeting the set standards.

Organic products contain no chemicals, no harmful preservatives or additives and are GMO free.

What about Fair Trade?

Fair Trade is a certification for products produced in developing countries that do not have industrial labour laws. Our products are manufactured in first world, developed countries (Europe) that have fair labour laws and working conditions. GOTS certification has a social criteria based on the key norms of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) must be met by all processors and manufacturers.

What about GMO?

Organic standards prohibit the use of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) so you can rest assured that all our products are 100% GMO free.
